Building permits, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical permits issued by the city are inspected by the city inspector to confirm compliance with the building codes and city ordinances. The city inspector also inspects other premises to insure health and safety regulations are followed. The city inspector works with the city planner on planning and zoning issues and on subdivision and building issues.

The code enforcement officer (Tom Geslin) serves as the city inspector.
