Fire Suppression

The Blanchard Fire Department protects a fire district that comprises approximately 12,000 people that reside within sixty-nine (69) square miles of both McClain and Grady Counties. The department responds on average to 1,000 incidents per year operating 2-Engines, 3-Brush Trucks, 2-Command Trucks, 1-Command Trailer, 1-Tanker, and 1-Rescue/Service Truck. We currently enjoy an ISO Rating of a Class 5 in areas with fire hydrant coverage and Class 8b in areas without hydrants.

The department responds to all types of emergencies including structural and wildland fires, oil field fires, medical emergencies with McClain-Grady County EMS, rope rescue, water rescue, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials incidents, and search/rescue.

The average overall response time to all incidents is six (6) minutes and an average of three (3) minutes from time of dispatch to enroute to the incident.
